The Clearwater Historical Society pays tribute to the ten times World Champion Clearwater Bombers fast pitch softball team. Councilman George Cretekos presents a proclamation from the City of Clearwater honoring the team for its many sucessful years as a softball team. The Clearwater Bombers played from the mid 1940's to the mid '90's. Filmed March 19, 2011 at the Plumb House, home of the Clearwater Historical Society. NOTE: This is a streaming video. A TV Interview with Judge Owen S. Allbritton, on reflections of his life. Recorded a year before his death, he tells of growing up in Clearwater, Florida in the 1930's, his training years as a pilot in the Navy, and his college years at University of Florida. He goes on to vividly recall how he met his wife Peggy, his early years as a lawyer, later years as a City Judge and Circuit Court Judge. For anyone that knew Owen, this is a must see interview. If you didn't have the pleasure of knowing Owen, his recollections are entertaining and full of facts about a time past.
